The last week of October has come and gone. The pre-rut the edge between November madness, and the October Lull is near its end as the Rut approaches. The team member of Trophy Pursuit feel the rut inching closer as the first week of November is finally upon us. In this episode, the team is hunting the pre-rut, and the action is definitely heating up.

Alexandria Dunkin comes face to face with a huge brow buck on a late October afternoon. Alex opts out of harvesting the buck and instead harvests a mature doe to fill the freezer. This hunt took place over an Arrow Seed brassica plot and the center of attention seemed to be a mock scrape.

We also get an update from Tayler Riggen as he hunts a beautiful October evening from an observation stand. When the trail cameras show slow movement, it is usually a good idea to climb high and observe as much of a property as you can to find out more about deer movement at that particular time.

Hunting the pre-rut often requires patience as each hunt can either be exciting or completely dead. Each hunt during this time can be extremely variable. Relying upon trail cameras and observational type hunts can pay off huge as each piece of information on a hit-list buck is critical.
