Determining when the best time to hunt the whitetail rut can be puzzling for many deer hunters. But the fact remains, that on a consistent basis year to year, most does will enter estrous at the same time they always have in your area. For much of the Midwest and Northeast, that’s the middle of November. This means that the weeks leading up to this point can be some of the most action packed deer hunts you have. Whereas once the rut peaks, deer movement can be very slow.

On this episode of Muddy’s Whitetail Watch, join Bill Winke for his strategy of hunting situations during the rut in the Midwest. Bill will discuss blind and tree stand setups and when he prefers to use each.
